Men often talk about ‘getting lucky’ on St Valentine’s day but one lucky Georgia Lottery player got lucky in more ways than one last week when he won the lottery twice on St Valentine’s Day. It’s certainly a St Valentine’s day he won’t forget after winning $255,000 across two different Georgia Lotto scratch cards.
James McAllister from Acworth, Georgia bought a Georgia Lottery Millionaire Jumbo Bucks tickets last weekend from Racetrac in Acworth while taking his wife for a romantic Valentine’s day breakfast. Scratching it off in the car he was astounded to realise that he had indeed got lucky to the tune of $5,000.
Feeling St Valentines day may indeed be his lucky day he later bought another Georgia Millionaire Jumbo Bucks ticket at the Kellogg Creek Market in the town as he shopped for a St Valentine’s day card for his wife.
That ticket astoundingly was worth $250,000, beating 1 in a million odds!
The double win surprised Mr McAllister who truly believes fate allowed him to win that day, telling Georgia Lottery officials that he wouldn’t have won any other day.
Mr McAllister declined an interview but said in a news release that he had his wife to thank for his good fortune and he probably wouldn’t have won any other time. Simply winning because it was St Valentine’s Day.
It puts a whole new slant on the phrase getting lucky and I think he probably got luckier than most men this February 14th.
